Category: Reviews

All “Reviews” blog posts. This category is already self-explanatory but since I need to fulfill the SEO requirements (the red icon really bothers me) I will add comments about the games that I played either in PlayStation or Steam as well as movies or TV series that I watched over the weekend on Netfl**. These posts are simple and will not give a rating system since I don’t have criteria for those.

↝ You might see some “Travel” or “Life” categories here since my hubby is a retro game collector so we will be visiting some arcade games and claustrophobia-triggering stores to fulfill his growing collection and my game collection as well.

↝ Although it is named “Reviews”, I believe majority of my posts will be gaming, so some topics that will be posted here are ranging from current game style to old-school, retro video gaming. I might share a 30-sec to 1-min video clip because just to show off my gamer skiLLZzzss and such. (Actually, I have a potato laptop so I can only record very short clips hehe)

↝ I tried to add my weird binge-watching habits since its a frequent thing to me now, so might as well some movies or tv series here.

Tokyo Mystery Sake — A Quick ‘Merging’

Tokyo Mystery Sake『東京怪奇酒』, I noticed this title when it got suggested after I watching “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” around two or three weeks ago. Then my curiosity peaked when someone’s asked this on discord, and since I have hours to waste while at work, I gave this series a try.

So, Tokyo Myster Sake revolves around a young actor named Yosuke Sugino, who got an offer while on his shooting break however, the catch is… it’s a lead role on a horror series named “Tokyo Horror”.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir — Game Review

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is a stunning remake of its 2007 PlayStation 2 counterpart, simply titled Odin Sphere. Fans of Vanillaware are familiar with the artistic excellence standard for their titles, from the breathtaking background and character designs to the smooth animation and gameplay to match; If you’ve played Oboro Muramasa Rebirth or Dragon’s Crown, then you know what to expect from Odin Sphere Leifthrasir.

Upon the start of the game, we’re treated to a short series of cutscenes regarding the Cauldron ownership and Titrel ring that started a war across Erion, ending with Gwyndolyn knowing of her sister’s death. After the intro, we meet a cute kid named Alice and her cat… Socrates…

Muse Dash — Game Review

It’s been a while since I posted something here. Honestly, things got really busy around my last post and this is the only day that I could get a breather or at least a good day to finally compose a blog post.

So, Rhythm games — I’m a sucker for those kinds of genres since I love music and how gameplay differs based on the difficulty you’ve chosen, I can casually play just by choosing Easy and Medium mode and go hardcore when choosing Master mode. I shared my comments about a not so obscure rhythm game before and I might create another blog post about it again since it released 3-5 DLCs since 2020 entered, but wait that’s not the reason I’m making this post!

Grand Theft Auto V — Game Review

Grand Theft Auto V is the latest game from the Grand Theft Auto series, released in September 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, eventually reaching the Playstation 4 and Xbox One the following year. Just like its predecessors, Grand Theft Auto V is an M-rated action game featuring a massive open-world environment to roam, filled with countless activities to do. It’d take hours to simply traverse the map in its entirety.

The story revolves around three (3) protagonists that were suddenly connected due to a simple repo task and ends up with them killing everyone that fucks them over as the story progresses…

Visiting Seoul — with Arcades and Street-food

At the beginning of May, my family and I returned to South Korea and revisited Seoul for the fourth time in which we stayed for almost a week. So why did we revisit Seoul yet again? — The original reason was to see a concert which unfortunately ended up getting canceled, thus we planned an entirely different set of goals for the trip, as my waifu wanted to do some game arcade-hopping around Seoul, have a quick meet up with a friend, as well as a little bit of street food-tripping in Myeongdong.

Despite the early-Summer forecast on that week, surprisingly the weather there was a bit cold, feeling akin to early Spring weather, especially at night time, unlike here in the Philippines where it has been blazing hot and humid all day for the past two months.

Event recap — Retro Gaming Expo

February 22 and 23 was a trip back in time to relive nostalgic memories as we went to the first annual Retro Gaming Expo at Fisher Mall, QC. This is a two-day event filled with game merchandise and goodies, cosplay, casual play, and quick tournaments showcasing everything retro game-themed.

Bear in mind that retro gaming is already a thing here in the Philippines, but it seems that it only started to garner more attention and popularity in recent times, perhaps due to Millennials now having more time and money to buy stuff and do more of what they’ve loved since childhood. That said, it is still a good thing.
